Anxiety treatment in Redlands, CA
Care for generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and social anxiety — in person in Redlands or by telehealth anywhere in California.
You can put it down
Anxiety is exhausting, and it’s treatable.
Anxiety is not just worrying. It is a body running its alarm system continuously — scanning for threats, rehearsing conversations, replaying mistakes, and refusing to power down at night. That takes a real physical toll, and most people carrying it are doing so while still showing up to everything.
Many people wait years before getting help because their anxiety is invisible from the outside. They are still functioning, still meeting deadlines, still holding it together. The cost is just paid privately.
You do not need to be in crisis to deserve treatment. Anxiety responds well to care, often faster than people expect.
What anxiety can look like
Anxiety shows up in the body as much as the mind.
- Worry you can’t redirect or turn off
- Trouble falling asleep because your mind won’t settle
- Racing heart, chest tightness, or shortness of breath
- Muscle tension, jaw clenching, headaches, or stomach trouble
- Feeling on edge, keyed up, or easily startled
- Avoiding calls, driving, crowds, or social situations
- Panic attacks that arrive without warning
- Overpreparing, or rehearsing conversations in advance
- Difficulty concentrating because part of your attention is always occupied
- Irritability that surprises the people around you
How Janae approaches anxiety care
Find the pattern
Janae looks at when your anxiety started, what makes it worse, and what it’s costing you — and rules out medical contributors like thyroid issues, sleep problems, or caffeine and substance effects.
Treat thoughtfully
Depending on the picture, that may mean medication, psychotherapy, or both. Janae prescribes conservatively and explains the reasoning behind each recommendation, including what to expect and when.
Stay with it
Anxiety treatment works best with follow-through. Regular visits track your response, adjust as needed, and make sure you’re not left managing side effects or plateaus on your own.
Common questions
When does anxiety need treatment?
Anxiety is worth treating when it starts costing you things — sleep, focus at work, time with people you care about, or activities you have begun avoiding. You don’t need to be in crisis to justify getting help, and you don’t need to wait until it gets worse.
What is a panic attack?
A panic attack is a sudden surge of intense fear with physical symptoms — racing heart, shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness, sweating, or a sense that something catastrophic is happening. They often peak within minutes. Many people go to an emergency room the first time, convinced they’re having a heart attack. Panic attacks are frightening but not dangerous, and they respond well to treatment.
Will I have to take medication forever?
Usually not. Many people take medication for a period of time while they build other tools, then taper off with their prescriber’s guidance. Others find longer-term treatment helpful. This is a decision you and Janae make together, and it can be revisited as your circumstances change.
Do you prescribe benzodiazepines?
Janae prescribes conservatively and prefers treatments that address anxiety over the long term rather than only in the moment. Benzodiazepines carry risks of tolerance and dependence, so they’re used selectively when appropriate. She’ll explain her reasoning and discuss alternatives with you.
Can anxiety be treated by telehealth?
Yes. Anxiety is well suited to telehealth care, and Janae sees patients by secure video anywhere in California. For people whose anxiety makes leaving the house or driving to appointments difficult, telehealth often removes a real barrier to starting treatment.
